108: Climate Change Today, Solutions, Footprints + Communicating Climate | Dr. Katharine Hayhoe

We’re speaking with the incredible Dr. Katharine Hayhoe! Dr. Hayhoe is widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in the climate conversation (and one of my personal inspirations). Dr. Katharine Hayhoe is an atmospheric scientist her research focuses on developing and applying high-resolution climate projections to understand what climate change means for people and the natural environment. She is a professor and director of the Climate Science Center at Texas Tech University, and has authored 125+ peer-reviewed publications. Plus, Dr. Hayhoe served as a lead author for the Second, Third, and Fourth U.S. National Climate Assessment. Among her many honors and awards for climate communication, environmental leadership, and her influence on this crisis, Katharine Hayhoe was named one of the United Nations Champions of the Earth, the UN’s highest environmental honor. Today, we’re speaking about what climate change looks like today, the wide array of climate solutions available, and how to communicate climate as we look forward. We discuss carbon pricing, the personal carbon footprint, and the historic influence of oil/gas companies.
